Conference Topics

The scientific program will include invited and contributed papers concerned with the ontology of spacetime. The topics to be covered will include, but not be limited to:

  • The 3D/4D debate: Does it reflect a real problem? If so, do the theory of relativity and the experimental evidence supporting it provide a definite answer to the question "What is the dimensionality of the world?
  • Are becoming, flow of time, and change intrinsically related to the dimensionality of the world?
  • Are objective becoming, flow of time, and change compatible with relativity?
  • Experience of time and the empirical evidence from psychology.
  • Change in classical and quantum cosmology.
  • Disappearance of time in quantum cosmology.
  • Conventionality of simultaneity and the issue of dimensionality.
  • Spacetime versus neo-Lorentzian interpretation of relativity.
